Ok, here is the obligatory "About Me" page. My name is Jason Hissong and I live in Hilliard, OH. I have been a train nut since I was a kid. My childhood is full of memories of trains. We lived in a modest house in front of the old Big 4 line in Columbus. When we moved to the house in 1977, Penn Central just went bankrupt. I saw the black engines convert over to blue ones. I also witnessed the steady decline of rail traffic behind my house. I remember on cool autumn nights where I would sleep with my window open (you could do that in those days) and I would hear the howling of the flanges on the rails when they were switching a small spur behind my house. To this day, when I hear that sound, I am transported back to my childhood. I am also into Amateur Radio, callsign N8XE. It all started when I got my first scanner to listen to railroad frequencies. I started listening to the local repeater. I talked to Steve, my wife's uncle, N8CPA, and he got me started. I got my ticket two days after I got married in 1997. I soon started upgrading and eventually got my Extra License. I am a QRP (low power radio) enthusiast building my own equipment when I can. I am also a musician. I play keyboards, bass, guitar, sax, bassoon, and drums. At this time, I play mostly at church. However, I also write music. My music can be found at www.jasonhissong.com. Other hobbies include Amateur Astronomy, computers, and reading Sci-Fi Novels. I can be reached online:
